Chef: CCPS Culinary Arts scholarship recipient and mentor, Greg Shapiro, Executive Chef and Owner, Tastebuds Custom Catering
Artist: CCPS Visual Arts scholarship recipient and mentor TBD depending on student’s art medium
Location: The Naples Art Association
Shapiro will be mentoring a top rated culinary art student from Collier County Public Schools. This program will provide students the opportunity to work with a top rated chef, but also an opportunity for scholarship funding. Shapiro will provide intangible culinary knowledge which is difficult to convert into specific knowledge, because cooking skills are a fine art. Diverse and sophisticated culinary skills will be cultivated through close interaction between mentors and protégés; mentors will also assist with understanding and mastering of various culinary techniques that have been refined over years through daily practice. In addition to teaching cooking skills, mentors also provide guidance in dealing with people and assist with career development.
