Reception & Awards Presentation for the National Arts Encounter
Join us on Friday, November 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the Reception & Awards Presentation for the NAA’s National Arts Encounter 2018 – 2019 exhibition. There is a $10 suggested donation when attending the reception (free for Naples Art Association contributors).
The Naples Art Association initiated the Art Encounter exhibition program in 1983. It is a contemporary art exhibition open to two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork by artists residing in the United States. The exhibition serves as a platform upon which Florida artists share the spotlight with their peers at the national level. For artists from outside of Florida, the exhibition provides an opportunity to demonstrate success, compete for cash prizes totaling $3,500 and exhibit in Naples.
The cash prize recipients will be announced at this gathering. They were selected by three exhibition jurors:
- Brad Cushman, gallery director and curator, University of Arkansas at Little Rock
- Jill Deupi, beaux arts Director and chief curator, Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami
- Kirk Ke Wang, professor of visual arts, Eckerd College, Saint Petersburg, Florida
The exhibition will be on view in the Frederick O. Watson, Elizabeth & William Barrick, Millicent & Charles Marshall and the Minnesota Lobby galleries with free admission during published exhibition dates. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The exhibition is generously sponsored by Jackye and Curtis Finch, Jr.
