Naples Art Makes Applying for National Art Shows EASY

The NAA partners with CallForEntry.org (CaFÉ) a nonprofit arts service organization, to make applying for national art shows incredibly simple.

When there is an open call for a national art shows hosted by Naples Art, the opportunity will be listed on the NAA’s “Call For Artists” webpage. Here, you can read an overview of the exhibition then follow the link to the CallForEntry website to view the criteria and apply to the call online.

How to Apply

If you’re new to CallForEntry.org, the first thing you’ll need to do is register for a free account. Your CaFÉ account gives you complete access to open calls, allows you to easily upload digital images of your artwork, and answer calls for entry for the NAA national art shows, including:

  • Founders Juried Awards Exhibition
  • National Art Encounter Competition
  • Camera USA® Photography Competition

 

Criteria for Applying

Each exhibition will have its own criteria that will be clearly listed on the CallForEntry website.
Criteria includes:

Eligibility – Who the competition is open to, the type of artwork that can be submitted, and when the artwork was created (i.e. Artwork created after January 1, 2014)

Size Limitations and Presentations – Maximum size, weight, and whether the artwork will need to accommodate special presentations such as plexiglass or pedestals.

Entry Fee – There is a non-refundable entry fee that is payable online when you apply for the call.

Artist’s Statement – An artist’s statement should accompany each entry to give jurors information and insights about your artwork. Details about what to include in your artist’s statement are included in the CallForEntry criteria for each competition.

How the Process Works

After applying online through CallForEntry and submitting digital images of your artwork, you will receive a Jury Process Results Notification under “My Applications” in your CaFÉ account. If your artwork was accepted, CONGRATULATIONS!

Here’s what you can expect:

  1. You will receive email instructions for hand-delivering or shipping your accepted artwork to Naples Art on specified dates.
  2. Your artwork will need to remain on display at the NAA for the entire duration of the exhibition. Gallery dates and hours will be listed in the exhibition criteria and included in your emailed instructions.
  3. You will be invited to attend the Reception and Awards Presentation at the NAA. A list of awards is included in the details for each competition.
  4. You may list your artwork for sale, or NFS (not for sale). If sold, the NAA will receive a 30% commission to support exhibition programs, and you will receive a check mailed to you within 3 weeks from the close of the exhibition.
  5. Artwork pick-up or shipped return will be scheduled for certain dates.
