Naples Art is pleased to announce its first ever virtual exhibition: Portfolios of Promise: Expressions of our Youth, featuring the imaginative, artistic expressions of four Naples-area, newly-graduated high school seniors, Lee Boutet, Alanna Jaron, Isabel Morris, and Rebecca Zamora.

On view through September 1, 2022, Portfolios of Promise: Expressions of our Youth presents works in various mediums, bringing to light the artists’ observations, thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The societal influences on our youth are directly reflected in these works, casting light on the future and distilling insights into a new, inclusive society.

The exhibition was created using Kunstmatrix, an Internet platform that enables the creation of 3D art galleries online, and is viewable by clicking here: Portfolios of Promise exhibition

Through diverse forms of wet, dry, and digital mediums, the artists exhibit a wide range of subject matter. Each artist displays a composition with styles ranging from Postmodernism to Realism. Influences from modern Japanese anime can be found within the facial characteristics of some artworks, while others incorporate elements of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Disney animators.

Portfolios of Promise: Expressions of our Youth is the first exhibition in a series of virtual programming that is part of Naples Art’s 'The artEQuity Project'--a community activism project aimed at providing visibility for self-taught and/or underserved artists.

“I’d like to acknowledge the work of the Collier Community Foundation in awarding Naples Art this grant to advance inclusivity within the art sector, and our community as a whole,” says Kit Baker, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Naples Art. The funding we received enabled us to achieve one of our strategic goals--that of establishing a platform for diverse voices to be heard. It has been exciting to work with Collier County Public Schools on this first exhibition utilizing our new virtual gallery. Focus now turns to our next exhibition, in collaboration with The Immokalee Foundation, entitled Sueños Inspirados | Inspiring Dreams, which will open in September.”

The next virtual exhibition as part of ‘The artEQuity Project’ will be a collaborative initiative with The Immokalee Foundation and will run from September 17 - November 30, 2022.

This program is generously supported by the Collier Community Foundation, the Florida Division of Arts & Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
