Introducing the “Naples Invitational": A Celebration of Local Artistic Talent at Naples Art Institute

July 3, 2023 — Naples Art Institute is pleased to announce its new exhibition, the Naples Invitational, a biennial showcase of the exceptional talent of contemporary artists from Naples, Florida. This highly anticipated exhibition will be on view at Naples Art Institute through October 15, 2023.

“The Naples Invitational highlights the talents and diversity of the thriving artistic community in Naples”, says Frank Verpoorten, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Naples Art Institute, “I’ve visited the artists’ studios and selected artworks that stood out in terms of their merit, relevance in our time, and their position as emblems of artistic creativity.”

The Naples Invitational features an intergenerational, interdisciplinary group of 40 artists whose dynamic works reflect the complexities and opportunities of the American experience today. The exhibition focuses on the quality of local artists’ work and highlights the commitment of Naples Art Institute to promoting the art of the time and to playing a major role in the visual art scene in Southwest Florida. “Our Naples Invitational is designed to honor contemporary artists in our community who are making some of today’s most important and timely work”, says Verpoorten. 

As a vital cultural hub in Naples, Naples Art Institute is dedicated to fostering a thriving artistic community and providing a platform for local artists to showcase their talent. The Naples Invitational is a testament to this commitment.

Admission is complimentary for Naples Art Institute members, Collier County residents (with proof of residency), students, and those under 18. Admission is $10 for all others.
